Production Team
The Production Team doctype represents a group of employees or workers who are jointly responsible for performing manufacturing operations. Teams are a key component in capacity planning, as they define the human resources available for production execution.
This doctype enables the planner to define which operations a team is capable of performing, assign specific members, and align the team with production shifts. By modeling teams accurately, the Capacity Plan can ensure that only qualified and available teams are allocated to the right operations.
Key Fields
Team Name A unique identifier for the production team (e.g., “Assembly Team A”, “Welding Crew”).
Team Leader The designated leader responsible for managing the team, monitoring performance, and communicating with production supervisors.
Shift Defines the working hours for the team. This ensures that capacity is calculated only within their available working time. Supports integration with multiple shifts (morning, evening, night).
Operation Table A child table listing the specific operations the team is capable of performing. Examples include:
- Welding
- Assembly
- Painting
- Quality Inspection
This ensures that scheduling only assigns tasks aligned with the team’s skills and qualifications.
Team Members A list of individual employees or users who are part of the team. Members may rotate across shifts, but capacity is calculated at the team level rather than the individual level.
